Women's Swimming and Diving Competes Against Malone

CANTON, Ohio – The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team fell 151-68 to Malone in non-conference action on Saturday held at the CT Branin Natatorium.

Jessica Wyckoff (Elma, NY/Iroquois) won two events for the Lions on the day. She touched first in the 50 free and 100 freestyle. In the 50, she posted the best time of 26.81 and then followed that with a 58.56 performance in the 100.

Abigail Witmer (Herndon, PA/Herndon) led Behrend in the 200 freestyle with a winning time of 2:07.97. She also took second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:06.61. Witmer, Wyckoff, Kristin Owens (Erie, PA/McDowell), and Gwendolyn Lowery (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte) competed together in the 400 medley relay to place second in 4:27.13.

Individually, Lowery won the 400 IM in 5:01.57 while Lacey Grinnen (Warren, PA/Warren) came in second in the 1000 free for the top time for the Lions in 12:26.16.

In the 100 butterfly, Claire Mallick (Pittsburgh, PA/Woodland Hills) touched in 1:07.96 for third place.

Behrend returns to action on Friday against Pitt-Bradford. Meet begins at 6 p.m.
