Women's Swimming and Diving Finishes Sixth at Blue Devil Invite

FREDONIA, NY – The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team finished in sixth place out of nine teams with a three-day score of 304 at the Fredonia Blue Devil Invitational on Sunday.

John Carroll claimed the title with a team score of 893, while Allegheny came in second (788.5) and Baldwin Wallace was third (437.5).

Abigail Witmer (Herndon, VA/Herndon) led the Lions in the 200 backstroke, placing fifth with a time of 2:15.78.

Jessica Wyckoff (Elma, NY/Iroquois) made the A finals in the 100 freestyle and was eighth overall in 55.94 and Maryn Horn (Houston, TX/Jersey Village) won the B final for ninth overall with a time of 54.95.

In the 400 free relay, Horn, Gwendolyn Lowery (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte), Witmer, and Wyckoff made up the sixth-place team clocking in at 3:45.82.

Lacey Grinnen also earned points for Behrend with 11th place in the 1650 free (20:01.70).

The Lions return to action on Saturday, January 13 at Washington & Jefferson. Meet time is 1 p.m.
