Strong Performances Keep Women's Swimming Out Front at AMCC Championships

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team remain in first place by 52 points ahead of Alfred State after the third day of the 2019 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships held in the Junker Center Pool on Friday.

Noteworthy:

* The women won the 400 medley relay in the morning prelims session. Jessica Wyckoff (Elma, NY/Iroquois), Barbie Cessar (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock), Marcella Puglia (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk), Abigail Witmer (Herndon, VA/Herndon) set a new pool record with a time of 4:08.20
* To start the night, Allison McClure (Loveland, OH/Milford), Cessar, Paola Maldonado (San Juan, Puerto Rico) and Remy De Guzman (Mission Viejo, CA/Trabuco Hills) were first out of four teams with a winning time of 1:56.21
* The first individual championship went to Puglia in the 400 IM. The freshman touched in 4:52.05
* Wyckoff repeats as the 200 freestyle champion. She led 12 swimmers with a top time of 1:57.38 for first place
* In the 100 breaststroke, Cessar picked up her third gold medal of the day and first individual with a time of 1:10.95
