Behrend Lions Crowned AMCC Champions; Wyckoff, Puglia Take Honors
The Penn State Behrend women’s swimming and diving team were crowned the 2019 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Champions for the 11th time in program history on Saturday night.
ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team were crowned the 2019 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Champions for the 11th time in program history on Saturday night. Senior Jessica Wyckoff (Elma, NY/Iroquois) was named the AMCC Swimmer of the Year and Marcella Puglia (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) was voted AMCC Newcomer of the Year.

Noteworthy:
* Puglia set a new AMCC Meet and Open record with a winning time of 18:26.62 in the 1650 freestyle
* Wyckoff repeats as champion in the 100 freestyle, picking up her third individual championship of the meet with a time of 53.39
* In the 200 breaststroke, Barbie Cessar (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock) won by nearly seven seconds with a time 2:32.17 to be crowned champion
* Wyckoff, Paola Maldonado (San Juan, Puerto Rico), Abigail Witmer (Herndon, VA/Herndon) and Puglia went out in style in the final 400 freestyle relay. The foursome won with a time of 3:40.29 to set three new records; the team, AMCC Meet and Open records
