Women's Swimming and Diving Welcomes Penn State Altoona Saturday
The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team will host Penn State Altoona in their lone home meet this Saturday. The meet is set for 1 p.m. in the Junker Center. No fans are permitted.

* The Behrend Lions are competing four times this spring
* The Lions will honor Tahlia Smith (Oxford, NJ/Warren Hills Regional) for Senior Day
* Behrend returns junior Marcelle Puglia (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk), the AMCC record holder in the 1650 freestyle and a four-time AMCC Champion from last season
* The Lions competed in a virtual meet with Wittenberg, Hiram and Oberlin back in November
* Behrend defeated Hiram 156-89 and fell to Wittenberg and Oberlin
* All four teams swam in their respective pools and merged the times to generate results
* Freshman Aliyah Webster (Bradford, PA/Bradford) won the 50 breaststroke (37.53) and the 100 breaststroke (1:21.41)
* Freshman Macie Peyton (Edinboro, PA/General McLane) was runner up in the 500 freestyle (6:07.60) in her collegiate debut

* Saturday's meet is the lone competition for the Altoona Lions this season
* Altoona has six swimmers competing this season, including one junior, two sophomores and three newcomers
* Last season, the Lions finished fourth at the AMCC Championships
* Altoona returns sophomore Grace Dangelo, the AMCC Swimmer and Newcomer of the Year
* Dangelo was the top point-getter of any women's swimmer at the conference championships
