Watters, Danylko Crowned AMCC Champions on Day Three
Penn State Behrend women’s swimmers Camryn Watters and Jadyn Danylko were crowned AMCC Champions on day three of the 2024 Allegheny Empire Championship at the Webster Aquatic Center on Friday night.
ROCHESTER, NY – Penn State Behrend women's swimmers Camryn Watters (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield) and Jadyn Danylko (Erie, PA/McDowell) were crowned AMCC Champions on day three of the 2024 Allegheny Empire Championship at the Webster Aquatic Center on Friday night.
Combined Women's Scores: 1. Nazareth (722), 2. Penn State Behrend (692.50), 3. Alfred State (551), 4. Hartwick (548), 5. Alfred (351), 6. Penn State Altoona (330), 7. Pitt-Bradford (162.50), 8. Wells (105)
Noteworthy:
* Watters broke her team record in the 100 backstroke on the way to victory with a new time of 57.70
* Watters also tied her previous record of 58.30 in the preliminaries of the 100 back
* Danylko won her first AMCC Title, touching first in the 100 butterfly with a winning time of 59.33
* Becca Krenzer (Grove City, PA/Grove City) was the runner up in the 100 butterfly and third overall (1:03.30)
* Watters, Danylko, Krenzer and Heidi Schwartz (Webster, NY/Webster) swam 4:06.45 in the 400 medley relay for the AMCC silver medal and fourth overall
* Madelyn King (Uniontown, PA/Uniontown) led the Lions in the 400 IM, placing second in the AMCC and third overall with a time of 4:50.23
* Isabel Sheridan (Allentown, PA/Parkland) was close behind King with a time of 4:51.65 in the 400 IM for third place in the conference and fourth for the meet
* Emily Russell (Oil City, PA/Oil City) had the top time in the 200 freestyle for fourth in the AMCC (2:03.77)
* In the 100 breaststroke, Hanny Shen (Tegucigalpa, Honduas/Academia Los Pinares) led the Lions with a fifth-place finish in the AMCC and ninth overall (1:13.66)
* Behrend had four swimmers in the top seven in the 100 backstroke, paced by Marin O'Lone (Edinboro, PA/General McLane)

* Behrend returns to the water tomorrow for the final day of the AMCC Empire Championships. Prelims begin at 10 a.m. with finals at 5 p.m.
