Four Lions Score AMCC Athletes of the Week
Four Penn State Behrend student-athletes were named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week in their respective sports for the week of October 7-13.
ERIE, Pa. – Four Penn State Behrend student-athletes were named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week in their respective sports for the week of October 7-13.
Divers Nora Blasch (Springfield, VA/West Springfield) and Jacob Earley (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) earned AMCC Divers of the Week.
Blasch got points for the Lions vs. Allegheny for coming in first on the one-meter board (174.65) and the three-meter board (174.0), while Earley tallied a pair of wins in the diving events on Saturday. He tallied a score of 179.75 on the one-meter board and a 169.40 on the three-meter board for first place.
Sophomore Lindsey Kerlin (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield Area) registered Women's Tennis Player of the Week, going undefeated in singles and doubles action last week in three wins for the Lions. She did not give up a set point in three singles wins, including a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles vs. Mount Aloysius.
Rounding out the Behrend Athletes of the Week was Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Devyn Bailey (Mercer, PA/Mercer). Bailey instrumental in two AMCC shutouts this week, holding Pitt-Bradford to a pair of shots and the Mounties without a shot. She also scored her first collegiate goal in a 4-0 win over Mount Aloysius.
The divers are back in action this Saturday at the Fall Classic in Webster, NY, while women's tennis competes at conference championships this weekend and women's soccer is on the road for a pair of AMCC matchups.
