Women's Swimming and Diving Team Record Falls at Fredonia Invite

FREDONIA, NY – The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving's 400 medley relay team set a new program record, breaking a 13-year record on day one of the Fredonia State Blue Devil Invite on Friday night.

* SUNY Brockport holds a 30. 5 lead over the Lions for first place
* After the prelims, Behrend had the top time heading into the 400 medley relay finals
* The 400 medley relay consisted of Kallie Smith (Oil City, PA/Oil City), Jadyn Danylko (Erie, PA/McDowell), Marin O'Lone (Edinboro, PA/General McLane) and Camryn Watters (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield)
* The relay clocked in a new Behrend record with a time of 4:02.91, replacing the record that was last set on Feb. 17, 2011 by MaryEllen Spooner, Julie Cook, Rachel Ragen and Katie Van Epps
* Three swimmers represented Behrend in the 200 IM "A" finals, yet five swimmers had time drops in the preliminaries
* Smith took first in the 200 IM with a winning time of 2:12.57 and Madelyn King (Uniontown, PA/Uniontown) came in second with a time of 2:16.90
* Logan Wilson (Hermitage, PA/Hickory) led the Lions in the 500 free, placing third with a time 5:22.44
* Wilson was the lone Lion in the "A" finals while Emma Whiteman (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) and Valerie Encinas (Leesburg, VA/Loudoun County) each dropped their times in the prelims in the 500 free
* The 50 free finals featured Watters and Danylko, both of which had time drops in the preliminaries
* Watters clocked in with the third-best time of 24.80 and Danylko came in seventh (25.65)
* The opening relay team of O'Lone, Smith, Danylko and Watters places second in the 200 free relay was able to get runner up with a time of 1:40.10
