On Tuesday, September 29, the Penn State Behrend Lions defeated the Pitt-Bradford Panthers in an AMCC women's tennis match by a score of 7-2. Behrend improves to 10-3 overall and 6-1 in league play.
Penn State Behrend's Arica Christman (Sharon/Sharon) picked up 6-1 and 6-0 wins at top singles. Stephanie Cattron (Greenville/Commodore Perry) won 6-0 and 6-2 while Leslie Durante (Fairview/Fairview) won 6-3 and 7-5 in the number two and three spot in singles.
Senior Christy Calvert (Warren/Mercyhurst Prep) and junior Hillary Lasher (Lakewood/Southwestern) won in doubles by a score of 8-4. Megan Noschese (Ellwood City/Riverside) and Mareesa Schepis (Moon/Moon) also won in doubles play by a score of 8-4.
The Behrend Lions are currently on an eight match win streak. Next up for the blue and white will be a home match on Wednesday, September 30 against the Grove City Wolverines. The match is set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
