ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women’s tennis team swept the doubles competition and split the singles play to come away with a 6-3 non-conference victory against Waynesburg on Saturday.

In doubles, Arica Christman and Steph Cattron shut out their opponents 8-0 and so did Hillary Lasher and Leslie Durante. The third match was an 8-4 win by Allison Quigley and Jade Buhite in the third spot for the Lions (12-3).

Christman did not give up a point the entire day, blanking Rebekah Reyes at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Cattron only lost one set in singles competition, winning 6-1, 6-0. Knowing the match was already won due to her teammates, Durante tallied a 6-0 decision at No. 4 singles for the last Behrend win.

The Lions return to action on Tuesday at Grove City to gear up for the AMCC Championships on Saturday in Wexford, Pa.
