Fredonia St. Upends Women's Tennis

ERIE, Pa. – The Fredonia State women's tennis team won two doubles and four singles match to spoil Penn State Behrend's home opener with a 6-3 decision in non-conference action on Wednesday.

Monica Gohkberg (Brooklyn, NY/Leon M. Goldstein) was the lone double winner for the Lions (1-1). She won at No. 1 singles by default and teamed with Colleen Miller (Louisville, OH/Louisville) for a 9-7 win at the top doubles spot.

Malinda Miller (Champion, PA/Connellsville) won at No. 3 singles in a three-set match. She defeated Sara DiFalvio by winning the first set 7-6 and the third set 10-4. DiFalvio captured the second set, 6-1.

Behrend returns to action on Friday at Alfred. The match begins at 4 p.m.
