Westminster Handles Women's Tennis

Patra Sangpoompong tallied the lone win for the Penn State Behrend women’s tennis team in an 8-1 loss to Westminster on Tuesday afternoon.

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.  – Patra Sangpoompong (Bangkok, Thailand/Erie First Christian Academy) tallied the lone win for the Penn State Behrend women's tennis team in an 8-1 loss to Westminster on Tuesday afternoon.

Sangpoompong defeated Jane Larson 6-1 and 6-1 at No. 3 singles for the Lions (3-3).

The Titans posted their fourth straight win to remain undefeated on the season. Westminster swept the doubles, only losing four game points.

Casey Smith (Grove City, PA/Grove City) took her opponent into three sets, falling 5-7, 6-2 and 10-8.

Behrend returns to action on Thursday at home against St. Vincent at 4 p.m.
