STUEBENVILLE, Ohio – The Penn State Behrend women's tennis team suffered their second Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) loss of the season, falling to Franciscan 7-2 on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions (5-5, 4-2 AMCC) were handed their first conference loss since September 11, 2009 against La Roche last night 5-4, only to be defeated again today by the Barons.

After winning all three doubles matches, Franciscan only needed to win two singles matches and ended up taking four out of the six for the conference victory.

Patra Sangpoompong (Bangkok, Thailand/Erie First Christian Academy) and Catharine Haglund (Chevy Chase, MD/Academy of the Holy Cross) were the winners for Behrend. Sangpoompong won at No.1 singles 6-0, 6-2, while Haglund posted a 6-1, 3-6, (10-6) decision.

The Lions return to action on Tuesday at Grove City. The match starts at 3:30 p.m.
