Women's Tennis Downs Pitt-Bradford in AMCC Action

ERIE, Pa. – Nine different Penn State Behrend women's tennis players earned points in a 9-0 victory over Pitt-Bradford in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Wednesday.

The win marks the fifth overall and third conference victory for the Lions (5-1, 3-0 AMCC). Behrend earned five singles wins and two doubles, while winning the last two match points by defaults.

Colleen Miller (Louisville, OH/Louisville), Malinda Miller (Champion, PA/Connellsville) and Julie Lester (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum) were double winners on the afternoon.

C. Miller and Storm Schaffer (Pittsburgh, PA/Greensburg Central Catholic) had an 8-4 victory at No. 1 doubles, playing in that position for the first time this season.

Lester and Mackenzie Yoho (Ellwood City, PA/Lincoln) tallied an identical score at No. 2 doubles.

Morgan Kramer (Cannonsburg, PA/Canon McMillan), Chelsea Czerwinski (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst) and C. Miller were all 6-0, 6-0 winners in singles play. Kramer was in the fifth spot, Czerwinski in the second and C. Miller in the fourth.

Behrend returns to action on Friday against AMCC defending champions La Roche. Match begins at 4 p.m.
