ERIE, Pa. – The Grove City women's tennis team posted a 7-2 non-conference victory over Penn State Behrend in a make-up match on Monday afternoon.

After dropping the three doubles matches, the Lions got two singles wins from Alexandra Laffey (Sewickley, PA/North Allegheny) and Chelsea Czerwinski (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst).

Laffey had her match retired at No. 1 singles, but she was won the first set 6-4 and 3-2 in the second set. Czerwinski won the first and third set at the No. 2 spot for the other victory for Behrend. She recorded a 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 win.

The Lions return to action against No. 4 Penn State Altoona in the AMCC semifinals on Saturday at the Alpha Fitness & Tennis Club in Harmarville, Pa., beginning at 3:30 p.m.
