ERIE, Pa. – The Mt. Union women's tennis team defeated Penn State Behrend 7-2 in non-conference action on Wednesday evening at the Pennbriar Athletic Club.

The Purple Raiders (3-1) earned their third win of the season by winning ones doubles matches and all six singles matches.

Colleen Miller (Louisville, OH/Louisville) and Jacqueline Cannella (Bradford Woods, PA/North Allegheny) pulled out a close match at No. 2 doubles, edging their opponents in extra games 9-8.

The other Lions (11-5) victory of the night was at No. 3 doubles. Celeste Bentley (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) and Kelly Miller (Louisville, OH/Louisville) collected an 8-1 score for the win.

Behrend returns to action on Monday, March 7 against Eastern Nazzarene in Hilton Head, South Carlina.
