Women's Tennis Takes Second at AMCC Championships; Jasinski, Weber Named to All-Tournament Team

WEXFORD, Pa. – The No. 2 Penn State Behrend women's tennis team fell to No. 1 Pitt-Greensburg 5-4 in the 2021 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championship at the Oxford Athletic Club on Sunday. 

Score: Pitt-Greensburg 5, Penn State Behrend 4 

Records: Penn State Behrend (8-3), Pitt-Greensburg (10-3) 
 
Key Moments: 

* In a rematch of last year's championship, the Bobcats avenged the loss with a 5-4 decision for their first AMCC title
* Pitt-Greensburg took a 2-1 lead after the doubles matches, claiming No. 1 and No. 2 
* Sarah Howard (Conneatu, OH/Edgewood) and Rachel Weber (Allison Park, PA/Hampton) got Behrend its first point at No. 3 doubles, winning 8-2 
* Audra Carnes (Fairview, PA/Fairview) tied the match at 2-all with the shutout victory over Mariah Ulery at No. 4 singles (6-0, 6-0)  
* Pitt-Greensburg won the final two singles matches at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, respectively, to take home the trophy 
* The Lions took the first set at No. 1 and 6 singles, eventually getting a 6-2, 6-1 win by Erica Jasinski (Fairview, PA/Fairview) in the top spot  
* Weber tallied the same 6-2, 6-1 decision at No. 6 singles to help Behrend take a 4-2 lead in the match 
* Isabella Lane made it 4-3 for the Bobcats with a ti

* Jasinski and Weber were named to the All-Tournament Team
