Women's Track and Field Back at Spire

GENEVA, Oh. – The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team traveled back to Spire Saturday to look to improve on their outing from last weekend. 

Like the men, the women's 4x800m relay team also took first place. Courtney Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy), Ashlyn Carlsson (Butler, PA/Knoch), Katelyn Hancock (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) and Rachel Ramsey (North Versailles, PA/East Allegheny) finished with a time of 10:06.45 in the top spot.

Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward), Carlsson and Sargent finished 11th in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:13.33.

Allen also took fifth in the 60m sprint with a time of 7.94 and 11th in the 200m with a time of 26.26. In the 600m run, Hancock finished 10th, posting a time of 1:48.95.

Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan) and Casey Kulka (Warren, PA/Warren) finished sixth and 11th in the pole vault. Yenchik posted a height of 3.07m and Costa soared 2.77m.

The Lions travel to Ithaca next Saturday and Sunday with another 10 a.m. start each day.
