Lions Compete at Brockport; Allen and Pell Qualify For ECACs

BROCKPORT, NY - Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) broke the school record in the 60m hurdle and both Pell and Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) qualified for ECAC's as the Penn State Behrend women's track and field team competed at Brockport Saturday afternoon.

Pell started the day with a second-place finish in the 60m hurdles, finishing with a time of 9.63 and beating the school record that she set just last week. She then followed up her record-breaking performance with a third-place finish in the 500m dash with an ECAC qualifying time of 1:21.47.

Allen raced her way first place in the 400m dash. The senior qualified for ECAC's with a time of 59.97. Pell and Allen were then joined by teammates Gabriella Loeffler (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) and Ashlyn Carlsson (Butler, PA/Knoch) in the 4x400 race where they took first with a time of 4:06.84.

Loeffler also added two more Top 10 finishes on the day. She was fifth place in the 200m dash with a time of 27.47 and then finished sixth in the pole vault with a height of 3.05m (10'0").

Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan) also placed in the pole vault. The sophomore finished fourth after posting a height of 3.20m (10'6").

In distance, Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area) and Rachel Ramsey (North Versailles, PA/East Allegheny) each placed in the 3000m run. Crissman finished third with a time of 11:07.50 while Ramsey crossed the line in 11:44.32 for eighth overall.

The Lions will be back in action next Saturday when they compete in the Ithaca Bomber Invite beginning at 10 a.m.
