Women's Track & Field Compete at Tiffin

TIFFIN, OH. - The Penn State Behrend women's 4000 and 400 meter relay teams both took first place to highlight the Lions day at the Tiffin Dragon Invite Saturday.
Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area), Katelyn Hancock (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park), Courtney Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy), and Jenna Shelton (Cabot, PA/Knoch) teamed up for an ECAC qualifying time of 13:04.69 to take the first-place crown in the 4000 meter race.
In the 4x400 meter race, Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler), Ashlyn Carlsson (Butler, PA/Knoch), Gabriella Loeffler (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin), and Rachel Pell (Eilzabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) cross the line in 4:09.84, over two seconds quicker than the next closest team, to finish first overall.
Allen had two more individual top-10 finishes on the day. In the 60 meter prelims, she ran a season-best 7.86 and then crossed the line in fifth with a time of 7.93. in the 200 meter dash, Allen sprinted to a time of 25.89, giving her second place.
Pell and Loeffler found themselves in the top-10 in the 400 meter race. Pell crossed the line seventh in 1:00.65 before Loeffler came in 10th with a time of 1:02.05.
Hancock and Shelton both placed in the 800 meter race coming in eighth and 10th place, respectively. Hancock had a time of 2:27.39 while Shelton crossed just one second later at 2:28.28.
Behrend will compete in the Ohio State Elite meet next friday beginning at 11 a.m.
