Women’s Track & Field Back In Action At Houghton
The Penn State Behrend women’s indoor track & field team was back in action at the Houghton Highlander Invitational on Saturday.
HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend women's indoor track & field team was back in action at the Houghton Highlander Invitational on Saturday.
Key Moments:
* Madison Kappeler (Cecil, PA/Canon-McMillan) scored two runner-up finishes for the Lions
* Kappeler placed second in the pole vault with a height of 10-6 and then would go on to be the runner up in the long jump with a distance of 16-8 ¾
* Thrower Jessica Park (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) tallied sixth place in the weight throw (42-0), while freshman Braylee Lukehart (Reynoldsville, PA/DuBois Area) threw 33-2 for eighth place in the shot put
* Sophomore Olivia Swinarski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) recorded 4-7 in the high jump for fifth place in her first collegiate meet
* Ivy Laffan (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) ran a seventh place time of 1:05:15 in the 400m dash and an 11th place time in the 200m dash (28.62)
* Bethany Litwiler (Reynolds, PA/Reynolds) crossed the finish line in 12:00.08 in the 3000m for 10th
