Balaski Earns SUNYAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Penn State Behrend women's track & field junior Julia Balaski (Mercer, PA/Mercer) was named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
ERIE, Pa. - Penn State Behrend women's track & field junior Julia Balaski (Mercer, PA/Mercer) was named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
Balaski surpassed her own Penn State Behrend women's track & field record in the javelin throw at the Carnegie Mellon Invite this past Saturday.
She threw 142-2 on her fifth attempt for second place, shattering her previous program record mark of 130-9 that was set at Allegheny last season.
This throw places Balaski first in the Division III rankings and qualifies her for regionals in the javelin throw.
The track & field teams are back in action this Saturday at the Dave Labor Invitational, hosted by Slippery Rock. Meet time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
