Women's Volleyball Takes Top Spot in AMCC

HAMBURG, NY – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team remains the only undefeated squad in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) with a 3-1 victory over Hilbert on Tuesday night.

The Lions (10-5, 4-0 AMCC) have won the last five matches, including four consecutive conference victories. Behrend tallied the win in four sets, 20-25, 31-29, 25-19 and 25-16.

Mary Sperry (Atlantic, PA/Conneaut Lake) had her kills total match her digs total with 14 each to lead Behrend. Catherine Healy (Connellsville, PA/Connellsville) was second in kills, knocking down 12 to go with four blocks.

Chelsea Magnusen (Plum, PA/Plum) registered 37 assists to help in the attack, while Tory Storino (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) tallied a team-best 17 digs. Ashley Solo (Irwin, PA/Penn-Trafford) added seven kills and three blocks.

The Lions return to action on this weekend at the Susquehanna Crusader Classic. Behrend faces New Jersey City on Saturday at 1 p.m.
