Lions Down La Roche in AMCC Action

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team continued its dominance in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) with a 3-0 win over La Roche on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions (15-7, 5-0 AMCC) earned their fifth straight conference victory with a 25-15, 25-18 and 25-8 win over the Redhawks.

Mary Sperry (Atlantic, PA/Conneaut Lake) had a team-best 12 kills and 12 digs. Catherine Healy (Connellsville, PA/Connellsville) was also in double-digit kills with 10.

Chelsea Magnusen (Plum, PA/Plum) contributed 31 assists and three blocks, while Tory Storino (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) registered a team-best 21 digs and five aces at the libero spot. Ashley Solo (Irwin, PA/Penn-Trafford) added six kills and Alyssa Pears (Meadville, PA/Meadville) had five kills and four aces.

Behrend returns to action on Tuesday at Pitt-Bradford. The match begins at 7 p.m.
