Women's Volleyball Edged By Buffalo State

BUFFALO, NY - The Buffalo State women's volleyball team rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Behrend in a five-set match in non-conference action on Tuesday evening.

The Bengals (23-7) were able to snap the Lions (17-8) six-match win streak with just one regular-season match left to play on Saturday. Buffalo State won the first set 25-18, before falling 25-19 and 25-18 to Behrend. The Bengals used a 28-26 four-set victory and then won 15-13 in the decisive set for the win.

Chelsea Moore recorded 36 digs to set a new school single-season record. Moore brought her season total to 710 digs, surpassing the old mark of 692.

Chelsea Magnusen (Plum, PA/Plum) had her first triple-double with 48 assists, 16 digs and 11 kills. Mary Sperry (Atlantic, PA/Conneaut Valley) had her best performance with 30 digs, while adding 10 kills.

Alyssa Pears (Meadville, PA/Meadville) tallied nine kills and Tory Storino (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) registered 19 digs.

The Lions return to action on Saturday against Pitt-Greensburg. Match begins at 1 p.m.
