Lions Take Two at Keuka Tournament

KEUKA PARK, NY – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team picked up to more wins to extend their win streak to six on day two of the Keuka College Tournament on Saturday.

The Lions (6-1) did not give up a set point in either match, defeating Houghton 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-23) and Alfred 3-0 (25-9, 25-10, 25-14).

Tory Storino (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) combined for 20 digs and Chelsea Magnusen (Plum, PA/Plum) had 40 assists and three aces.

Against Houghton, Lindsay Bean (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) and Meredith Snyder (Parker, PA/Allegheny Clarion Valley) led with nine kills and four blocks each. Storino dished out 12 digs and Magnusen tallied 26 assists.

Alyssa Samarco (Plum, PA/Plum) contributed five kills against Houghton and then added five aces, four kills and three blocks vs. Alfred.

Ashley Solo (Irwin, PA/Penn-Trafford) had a team-best seven kills against the Saxons, while Lauren Blachowski (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North) and Bean knocked down five kills apiece.

Behrend returns to action on Saturday at the Morrisville State Tournament.
