Hiram Too Much For Women's Volleyball

HIRAM, Ohio – The Hiram women's volleyball team used four sets to defeat Penn State Behrend 3-1 (22-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-20) in non-conference action on Wednesday night.

The Terriers (8-4) had three players with double-digit kills, led by Logan Brewer who hit .615 on the night thanks to 20 kills on 26 attempts. Marissa Jay added 16 kills, while setter Tierra Moore handed out 57 assists.

The Lions (10-2), who saw their 10-match winning streak come to an end, suffered only their second loss of the season.

Lindsay Bean (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) and Meredith Snyder (Parker, PA/Allegheny Clarion Valley) each led with eight kills. Snyder also tallied three blocks. Chelsea Magnusen (Plum, PA/Plum) contributed 27 assists, seven digs, four kills and two aces.

Libero Tory Storino (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) recorded a team-best 13 digs.  

Behrend returns to action on action with their home opener on Tuesday against Grove City. The match begins at 7 p.m.
