Women's Volleyball Competes at Neumann Fall Classic

ASTON, Pa.  – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team fell to Richard Stockton and Rowan on the final day of the Neumann Fall Classic this weekend.

The Lions dropped two close matches on Friday night, before falling twice on the second day. Behrend lost 3-2 to both Catholic and Neumann on the first day and returned to lose a 3-2 decision to Richard Stockton (16-25, 25-13, 25-15, 21-25, 5-15) and 3-1 to Rowan (16-25, 25-16, 14-25, 23-25).

Chelsea Magnusen (Plum, PA/Plum) tallied 53 assists, 27 digs, six kills and six aces in both matches.

In the five set match against Richard Stockton, Lindsay Bean (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) had 12 kills and three blocks. Meredith Snyder (Parker, PA/Allegheny Clarion Valley) added 10 kills and Courtney Hopson (Erie, PA/McDowell) contributed 14 digs.

Against Rowan, Magnusen led the team with 29 assists, 13 digs and six kills. Hopson posted a season best 24 digs, while Bean recorded 10 kills and four blocks.

Behrend returns to action on Wednesday at D'Youville. Match begins at 7 p.m.
