LATROBE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team completed an undefeated weekend with a 3-1 win over Waynesburg and 3-1 victory against St. Vincent at the Bearcat Challenge on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions (4-0) first faced Waynesburg and had no troubles once they got past the second set. Behrend won 25-16 and then fell 25-20. The Lions dominated the next two, winning 25-6 and 25-12. The same rang true with the Bearcats. Behrend put up more of a fight this time and won 25-20, 17-25, 25-22 and 25-18.

On the day, Meredith Snyder (Parker, PA/Allegheny Clarion Valley) and Lauren Blachowski (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North) each tallied 20 kills, while Courtney Hopson (Erie, PA/McDowell) posted 41 digs and Alyssa Samarco (Plum, PA/Plum) added 30 digs in a pair of wins.

Hannah Saunders (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) ended with 68 assists and Lindsay Bean (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) led with seven blocks.

In the first match, Snyder hit .611 with 12 kills on 18 attempts to go with four assists, four digs, one ace and a block.

Samarco paced the squad with 20 digs and 10 kills in the nightcap against St. Vincent. Bean also added 10 kills. Saunders dished out 40 helpers and Hopson registered 24 digs.

The Lions return to action on Friday against Elmira at the University of Rochester Tournament. Match begins at 4 p.m.
