HAMBURG, NY – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team picked up their fourth Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) win with a 3-0 decision over Hilbert on Wednesday night.

The Lions (17-8, 4-1 AMCC) won in straight sets 25-22, 25-17 and 25-9. Alyssa Samarco (Plum, PA/Plum), the current AMCC Athlete of the Week, led with 14 digs and 10 kills. She also matched a game-high three aces with teammate Ashley Solo (Irwin, PA/Penn-Trafford).

Libero Courtney Hopson (Erie, PA/McDowell) tallied a game-best 21 digs along with three assists and one ace. Meredith Snyder (Parker, PA/Allegheny Clarion Valley) had the best hitting percentage, going 6-for-10 with one error for .500. The sophomore also dished out 17 assists and Hannah Saunders (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) posted 15 assists.

Behrend held the Hawks to just 20 kills on the 48 points registered in three sets. The Lions were able to knock down 37 kills, including 15 in the first set.

Behrend returns to action on Tuesday against Medaille. Game time is 7 p.m.
