Behrend Volleyball Splits at Marymount; Clapper Named All-Tournament Team

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball split a pair of non-conference matches at the Marymount Invitational. The Lions defeated DeSales 3-2 and fell to the hosts Marymount 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Score: Penn State Behrend 3, DeSales 2 (25-17, 25-20, 21-25, 13-25, 17-15)
Records: Penn State Behrend (9-9), DeSales (7-13)

Key Moments:

* The Lions won the first two sets to get them one away from victory
* DeSales came back to win the next two to force a decisive fifth set
* Behrend and the Bulldogs were tied eight times in the final set
* Facing match point for DeSales, Emily Archer (Butler, PA/Butler) got a kill to make it 15-all
* The Lions took advantage of a ball handling and an attack error by the Bulldogs to win 17-15
* Kristin Reiland (Fairview, PA/Villa Maria Academy) led with 12 kills and seven digs
* Alex Parra (Pittsburgh, PA/Bishop Canevin) added 10 kills, while Madison Clapper (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) tallied 32 digs
* Dani Kosslow (Pittsburgh, PA/South Park) had her second consecutive double double with 31 assists and 12 digs

Noteworthy:

* Clapper was named to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts in three matches
