Women's Volleyball Splits at Wooster

WOOSTER, Ohio - The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team split a pair of non-conference matches at Wooster, defeating Hiram and then falling to the Fighting Scots on Saturday afternoon. 

Match One:
Final Score:
Behrend 3, Hiram (25-16, 25-22, 25-22)
Records: Penn State Behrend (18-4), Hiram (13-12)

Match One:

* Behrend hit .315 as a team to collect its 14th straight win
Brooke Joncas (Corry, PA/Corry) led with 13 kills and Keely Hering (North East, PA/North East) added 10 kills 
* Dani Kosslow (Pittsburgh, PA/South Park) dished out 38 assists and added five aces to move into fourth place on the program's all-time list
* Kosslow has 180 aces in her three years with the program
Maddie Clapper (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) had a team-high 20 digs 
* The Lions registered double-digit kills in each set for the sweep
* Behrend jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the first set and never let Hiram in reach for a 25-16 win
* The Lions never trailed in the second and fought back to win the third set 
* Down 22-21, Behrend won the final four points thanks to kills from Hering and Kristin Reiland (Fairview, PA/Villa Maria) along with two attack errors by the Terriers

 Wooster 3, Behrend 0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-20)
Records: Penn State Behrend (18-5), Wooster (15-8) 

Match Two:

* The Lions had their 14-match win streak snapped in the second match of the day
* Joncas and Sarah Cole (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) each contributed eight kills 
* Clapper finished the day with 15 more digs for a total of 35
* In the second set, the Fighting Scots used a 4-0 run to break an 11-all tie to take the lead for good 
* Behrend battled in the third set, a set that had eight ties
* Wooster won the final four points, including two on services aces for a 3-0 decision
