Women's Volleyball Set to Battle Allegheny Tonight

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team welcomes the Allegheny Gators to the Junker Center on Wednesday for a non-conference match, beginning at 7 p.m.

Penn State Behrend News & Notes:

* The Lions went 2-1 at their home invitational last weekend, improving their record to 4-3
* Behrend had all three matches going to five sets, defeating Oswego and Geneva
* The Lions fell 3-2 to Grove City in the final match on Saturday
* Hannah Phillips (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Week
* Phillips was named to the Behrend All-Tournament Team for recording double-doubles in each match over the weekend, amassing 51 kills and 50 digs
* Phillips leads the AMCC in kills per set  (3.08)
* Sara Nobach (Athens, MI/Athens) led the Lions last week with 79 digs in four matches
* Nobach registered a season-best 28 digs in the win over Geneva

* The Gators have dropped four in a row to sit at 3-6 overall this season
* Allegheny has wins over Capital, Defiance and Grove City
* Last weekend, the Gators did not win a set at the Purple and White Invitational hosted by Mt. Union
* Allegheny holds a 102-38 advantage in blocks against opponents
* India McCruter leads the team with 31 blocks, and also has 50 kills and 10 digs
* Cheyenne Wilson leads the team with 2.26 kills per set (61 kills total) and 12 service aces

* Behrend has won five matches in a row against the Gators
* The Lions have a 6-4 lead in the all-time series dating back to 2001
