Behrend Volleyball Announces 2022 Team Awards

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team announced their team awards, after finishing their season runners-up in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) and advancing to the ECAC Tournament Semifinals.

Hannah Phillips (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) was named the Most Valuable Player. The junior earned AMCC Co-Player of the Year and named to the All-AMCC first team. She ranked first in the AMCC in kills/set (3.45), total kills (359), and points/set (3.9). Phillips also ranked sixth in attack percentage (.227). She is second on the team in digs (306) and in service aces (27). Phillips has 13 double-doubles this season, knocking down a season-best 22 kills and 24 digs against Grove City.

Senior Brooke Joncas (Corry, PA/Corry) was received the Leadership Award, while Sarah Cole (Jackson Center, PA/Lakeview) was voted to the AMCC All-Sportsmanship Team.

Rookie of the Year went to freshman Sara Nobach (Athens, MI/Athens) and junior Sara Novak (Lower Burrell, PA/Burrell) was awarded Most Improved. Nobach led the team with 397 digs and 3.82 digs per set. She started every match and had double-digit kills in 21 matches. Nobach registered a season-high 31 digs against Penn State Altoona.

Novak played in 26 matches and ranked fourth on the team in digs (181). She also ranked second with 29 service aces, while adding 34 kills and 23 assists. Novak posted a season-best 16 digs vs. Penn State Altoona.
