Trio of Lions Secure AMCC Athletes of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Women's volleyball senior Meg Goodsel (Corry, PA/Corry), women's soccer sophomore Riley Morningstar (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) and men's soccer junior Blake Cooper (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) were selected as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week in their respective sports.

Goodsel dished out 119 assists in a 3-0 week for the Lions.

The fourth-year setter tallied a season-high 49 assists and added 15 digs in a four-set win over Thiel to start the week and posted two double-doubles, including 37 assists and 10 digs vs. William Patterson.

For the week, she averaged 9.92 assists and 2.75 digs, while also recording nine kills and five service aces.

Morningstar had nine stops against No. 8 Case Western, holding the Spartans to one goal on Wednesday.

On Saturday, she held La Roche scoreless in 75 minutes of work in the AMCC opener.

Cooper helped lead the Lions to a 2-0 week.

Against Houghton, he played a part in both goals in the contest, assisting on one and recording his own score.

To open up conference play vs. La Roche, Cooper tallied three assists on the first three goals of the game for Behrend.

For the week, he finished with one goal and four assists for six points.

Men's and women's soccer takes on Wells this Tuesday, while women's volleyball competes at John Carroll on Wednesday.
