Nobach Reaches 1,000 Career Digs; Lions Down Utica

OSWEGO, NY – The Behrend women's volleyball team returns to the win column, winning three unanswered sets to defeat Utica 3-1 on day one of the Oswego Invitational on Friday night.

Noteworthy:

* Libero Sara Nobach (Athens, MI/Athens) tallied her 1,000^th career dig in the first set. Nobach entered the match only needing one dig and she finished with 12

Key Moments:

* Behrend rallied back from one-set down to collect their third win of the season
* The Lions only committed 18 attack errors and forced 33 from Utica
* Cadence Jones (North East, PA/North East) led with 15 kills on 41 attacks for a .262 hitting percentage
* Jones posted her second double-double of the season, adding a season-best 24 digs to go with 15 kills
* Olivia Swinarski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) added 11 kills
* Brynne Smith (Butler, PA/Knoch) tallied 36 assists, her second highest total this season
* Sailor Ladd (Trumansburg, NY/Trumansburg) and Nobach each recorded 12 digs
* After falling in the first set, the Lions never trailed in the second and even took a double-digit lead to win 25-16 to knot the match at 1-all
* In the third set and the match tied at 14-all, Behrend reeled off eight straight points to take a 22-14 lead and pulled out a 25-20 win to take a one-set lead
* The Lions managed a 25-22 win in the fourth set to secure the victory
* Taylor Elchynski (Corry, PA/Corry) matched a season-best 10 digs
