Thiel Takes Behrend Women's Volleyball in Three

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats women's volleyball team defeated Penn State Behrend 3-0 in non-conference action on Wednesday night.

Final Score: Thiel 3, Behrend 0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-20)
Records: Penn State Behrend (4-12), Thiel (11-3)

Key Moments:

* The Lions started out strong in the first set, taking a 5-0 lead
* Thiel responded with five unanswered points and the next 11 out of 14 points for an 11-8 lead that would not relinquish
* Behrend grabbed another lead in the second set, this time 15-11
* The Tomcats rallied back to knot the game at 19-all and then allowed just two more points while getting to 25 for a two-set lead
* The Lions were close in the third set with another 15-11 lead and then tying the game at 18-all before falling by five points
* Cadence Jones (North East, PA/North East) and Brynne Smith (Butler, PA/Knoch) registered her fourth double-double of the season with a team-best 15 kills and 13 digs
* Libero Sara Nobach (Athens, MI/Athens) had a team-high 20 digs, while setter Smith added 23 assists, five aces and nine digs
