No. 3 Women's Volleyball Takes on No. 6 La Roche in AMCC Tournament

ERIE, Pa. – The No. 3 Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team will face No. 6 La Roche in the first round of the 2024 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships on Wednesday night in the Junker Center. Match begins at 7 p.m.

No. 3 Penn State Behrend News & Notes:

* The Lions finished the AMCC regular season with a 6-2 record to secure the No. 3 seed
* Behrend is coming off a 3-1 win over La Roche on Saturday
* The Lions held a 57-37 advantage in kills and a 15-6 edge in service aces
* Three players registered double-doubles led by Cadence Jones (North East, PA/North East) with 21 kills and 15 digs
* Jones, who averaged 5.25 kills and 3.75 digs per set for the match, also tallied seven service aces
* Brynne Smith (Butler, PA/Knoch) dished out 48 assists and 10 digs, while Alani Salas-Garcia (Jacksonville, FL/Mandarin) tallied a match-high 17 digs and added 13 kills

* La Roche lost the head-to-head tiebreaker to Hilbert to earn the No. 6 seed
* Middle hitter Kylie Fehlman was selected AMCC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season
* For the week, Fehlman had 10 blocks and 17 kills, while hitting .579 in a pair of AMCC losses
* Against Behrend on Saturday, Fehlman tallied six block assists and 12 kills
* The freshman leads the AMCC in total blocks (75) and blocks per set (0.96)
* La Roche has advanced to the AMCC Tournament the last 10 seasons
