Phil Pisano begins his 13th season as the head coach of the men's volleyball squad. Pisano spent the last 18 season with the Behrend women's volleyball program, becoming the all-time winningest coach with a 354-202 overall record. He also tallied a stellar 128-26 mark in the AMCC. During that time, 12 career or single-season records had been set with 68 earning All-Conference accolades and 96 Academic All-Conference honors. Pisano has also been named AMCC Coach of the Year a combined 12 times, including 2022 and 2023 with the men's program. 

Pisano has led the Behrend Lions to three AMCC Regular-Season Championships, a pair of AMCC Championships (2018, 2022) and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament (2022). He began the men's volleyball program in 2012 and has recorded a 143-123 record along with a 33-13 mark in the AMCC. 

In 2003, Pisano served as an assistant coach with the Behrend Lions. In addition, he coached at Slippery Rock as an assistant to the women's volleyball coach from 1998-2003. He was also the coach and president of the SRU men's volleyball club team for three years while earning his undergraduate degree in marketing from the Rock.

Pisano currently serves on the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Volleyball Regional Advisory Committee and the AVCA Division III Head Coaches Committee.  He continues to participate in a variety of volleyball camps and clinics throughout the year.

Pisano completed his MBA from Behrend in 2005. In addition to his coaching duties, he serves as a lecturer in the health and physical education department.
