Women's Water Polo Drops Season Opener

PASADENA, Calif. - The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team fell to Caltech 13-6 in their season opener on Saturday afternoon.

Four different Lions netted a goal, including a hat trick from a first-year player.

Lindsay Musoleno (Hatfield, PA/North Penn) led Behrend with her first collegiate goals. The freshman scored half of the team's goals with her first career hat trick.

Anne Lawrence (State College, PA/State College), MaryEllen Spooner (Springfield, VA/West Springfield), and Paula Rusca (Chicago, IL/Whitney Young) each contributed one goal.

After falling behind 8-2 through two quarters, the Lions (0-1) came back strong with four goals in the second half but could not overcome the deficit.

Behrend will be back in action on Tuesday against Vanguard at Caltech.  Start time is 7 p.m.
