Lions Fall to Washington and Jefferson

KENOSHA, Wisc. – The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team dropped its final game of the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Tournament II, falling to Washington and Jefferson, 11-3.

The Presidents offense erupted for six goals in the first quarter and four in the third to pick up the win.  Despite holding Washington and Jefferson to just one goal in the second and fourth combined, the Lions only netted three goals.

Paula Rusca (Chicago, IL/Whitney Young) scored twice for Behrend and made five steals.  Alex Isaacson (Williamsport, PA/Williamsport) netted the other goal for the Lions.  Mary Therese Causgrove (Erie, PA/McDowell) continued to have an excellent first year with two assists and five steals.

The Lions will be back in the water on Tuesday to face cross-town rival Gannon at 8 p.m. in the Junker Center.
