Wolverines Edge Lions, 13-12

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team dropped a heartbreaker to Grove City, 13-12, on Thursday night.

The Lions, trailing 10-6 at halftime, made a valiant comeback that fell one goal short.

Reigning Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Rookie of the Week Brittany Pinter (Erie, PA/McDowell) scored five times for Behrend in the defeat.

Paula Rusca (Chicago, IL/Whitney Young) and Breanne Martinez (La Mirada, CA/St. Joseph) each added two goals for the Lions, and Hannah Kelly (Elizabeth, PA/South Allegheny) and Marissa Duvall (Latrobe, PA/Greater Latrobe) both scored once.

Behrend outscored the Wolverines by a 5-2 margin in the final quarter, but it wasn't enough.

The Lions will take on Macalester at the CWPA Regional Tournament in Washington, PA on Friday, March 28 at 7:40 p.m.
