LA VERNE, Ca. – The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team fell to La Verne Wednesday night by a score of 15-2.
La Verne (2-7) scored nine first half goals to take an early advatnage. The Lions (1-6) tacked on two goals in the fourth quarter but surrendered 15 to the opposition.
Kara Stegmann (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area) was a bright spot for Behrend making six saves in the net and also added a goal. Maryn Horn (Houston, TX/Jersey Village) chipped in a goal.
The Lions head home from California and will prepare for the CWPA Regionals starting next Friday. The regional is hosted by Monmouth and features five scheduled games for Behrend. The Lions first match-up will be Carthage. The game will take place March 20 at 11:40 a.m.
