Behrend Loses to Carthage

WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team finished the Collegiate Water Polo Assocition (CWPA) Regional Tournament Sunday morning with a 14-8 loss to Carthage.
The Lady Reds (13-4) scored the first five goals of the game to outpace the Lions (4-19). Behrend trailed by just two goals heading in to the second half, but Carthage added six goals to pull away as the game progressed.
Lauren Wood (Vernon Hills, IL/Vernon Hills) paced the Lions offense with three goals and one assists while drawing two kickouts. Alison McClure (Loveland, OH/Milford) scored two goals in the game and had a team-leading three assists.
Kara Stegmann (Harleysville, PA/Souderton Area) made 10 saves in net and added one steal.
Behrend will be back in action on Thursday when they take on Mercyhurst at 5 p.m.
