Three Named to CWPA All-Academic Team

The Penn State Behrend women’s water polo team and three student-athletes have been recognized by the College Water Polo Association (CWPA) for their athletic and academic performance for the 2017 season.

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team and three student-athletes have been recognized by the College Water Polo Association (CWPA) for their athletic and academic performance for the 2017 season.

Freshman Jenessa Islas-Parker (Palatine, IL/Frema), Brittany Pinter (Erie, PA/McDowell) and Maryn Horn (Houston, TX/Jersey Village) were named to the All-Academic Team for achieving a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher and competing during the season.

Parker was one of 40 varsity athletes who earned Outstanding honors (4.0-3.71 GPA), while Pinter and Horn received Excellent honors (3.40-3.20).

As a team, the Lions received league honors for achieving a combined grade-point average of 2.93.
