Women's Water Polo Falls Twice in Final Day of PSB Invite

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team dropped a pair of games on Saturday, the final day of the PSB Invite. The Lions opened the day with a three-goal loss to Mercyhurst and concluded with an 18-7 defeat by Salem.

Mercyhurst 13, Penn State Behrend 10
Salem 18, Penn State Behrend 7

Key Moments:

* Marley Persch (Hudsonville, MI/Hudsonville) potted her third against Mercyhurst to make it just a two-goal deficit with 1:38 remaining
* The Lakers scored shortly after and closed out the game with the victory
* Behrend trailed by seven goals prior to going on a 7-2 run
* The Lions were outscored 9-3 in the first half but had a 7-3 advantage in the back end against Mercyhurst
* Shannon Young (Roseville, CA/Roseville) tied for the team lead in goals with three
* Kayla Scarpaci (Cypress, TX/Langham Creek), Emily McNaughton (Wexford, PA/Pine-Richland), Brooklynn Mocny (Sunnyvale, CA/Homestead) and Julie de Deus (Pembroke Pines, FL/Pembroke Pines Charter) each tallied one to round out the scoring for the Lions in game one
* Mocny led Behrend with two goals in the loss to Salem
* Samantha Darell (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) and Sarah Mancebo (Tulare, CA/MissionOak) each found the back of the goal for their lone marks on the day
