Women's Water Polo Heads to CWPA Division III Tournament

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team heads to Grove City, Pa. on Thursday for the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Championships. The Lions enter the tournament as the sixth-seeded team and open play against No. 3 Augustana.

* Behrend wrapped up the final week of CWPA regular-season play going 2-2
* The Lions received league wins over Grove City, Connecticut and Utica this season, finishing with a 5-3 record during league play
* Chloe Dodgen (Riverside, CA/Hillcrest), Emily McNaughton (Wexford, PA/Pine-Richland) and Marley Persch (Hudsonville, MI/Hudsonville) earned CWPA weekly honors for their performances during the regular-season finale
* Dodgen was named Defensive Player of the Week, logging a 3-1 record while making 30 saves
* McNaughton hit the Honor Roll for Player of the Week, tallying 13 points and scoring seven
* McNaughton was instrumental in the victory over Grove City, scoring the tying and game-winning goal in 29 seconds
* Persch was a Rookie of the Week Honor Roll choice on April 14, collecting 16 points and potting 11 goals

* First-round opponent Augustana carries a 6-2 conference mark into the tournament
* Alyssa Fricker leads the Vikings with 74 goals and 90 points
* Austin College clinched the No. 1 seed with a perfect 8-0 mark in league play
