Behrend Women's Water Polo Battles Occidental, Caltech

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team fell to Occidental and Caltech to complete their spring break trip to California.

* The Lions and Occidental were tied after two quarters at 4-all
* Shannon Young (Roseville, CA/Roseville) tallied a pair of goals in the first half and was joined by Nic Darrell (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) and Susie Carrillo (Fresno, CA/Clovis North Educational Center) for a goal
* Occidental exploded for five goals in the third quarter to take the lead for good
* Behrend added four more goals over the next two quarters but could not overcome the nine second-half goals by the Tigers
* Darragh Martin (Green Lane, PA/Upper Perkiomen) tallied both goals in the second half, while Kieffer Beckman (Wildwood, MO/Eureka) made five saves
* In game two, the Lions matched a season-best 11 goals vs. Caltech
