ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team dropped its weekend games to begin the season at the Robinette Invitational, hosted by Mercyhurst.
Match One
Score: Grove City 16, Penn State Behrend 13
Records: Grove City (1-1), Penn State Behrend (0-1)
Key Moments:
* The Lions outscored the Wolverines 4-2 in the second period to take a 9-7 lead into halftime
* However, four fourth period goals gave Grove City the narrow victory (16-13)
* Makenzie Rickerd (Rockford, MI/Rockford), Priscilla Gil (Chicago, IL/Riverside Brookfield), and Susie Carrillo (Fresno, CA/Clovis North Educational Center) each contributed four goals in the season-opener

Key Moments:
* Darragh Martin (Green Lane, PA/Upper Perkiomen) tallied two of the Lions three goals against the Lakers with the other goal coming from Carrillo
* Senior Nic Darrell (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) recorded a team-high three steals
* Goalie Monica Villasenor (San Gabriel, CA/Pasadena) finished with six saves

* Martin registered her first hat trick of the season vs. the Golden Knights
* Carrillo chipped in two scores, while Darrell, Lauren True (Denton, TX/Guyer), and Calla Williams (Longwood, FL/Lyman) each found the back of the net once
