Women's Cross Country Finishes 19th at Regional Meet
The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team placed two runners in the top 100 to finish in 19th place at the regional meet on Saturday.
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team placed two runners in the top 100 to finish in 19th place at the regional meet on Saturday.
Catie Bertges (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) paced the Lions with a 37th place finish. Bertges clocked in at 24:04. Freshman Carrie Chelich (Hobart, IN/Hobart) continued to build on her strong season. Chelich was the 11th best freshman at the meet with a time of 24:57 to place 75th.
Katie Patterson (Erie, PA/Villa Maria) finished in 107th place. Patterson ran a 6:53 pace to come in at 25:36. Haley Hughes (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton) finished up inside the top 150 with a time of 26:11. First-year runner Zofia Stark (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) was close behind Patterson. Stark rounded out the top five for Behrend with a time of 26:26.
A total of 335 runners competed in the 6K race.
